Criteria for Accreditation
The Criteria for Accreditation are used by HLC to determine an institution's accreditation status. The Criteria address five broad areas:
- Mission
- Integrity: Ethical and Responsible Conduct
- Teaching and Learning: Quality, Resources, and Support
- Teaching and Learning: Evaluation and Improvement
- Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness
Prior to a Comprehensive Review, we are asked to prepare an Assurance Argument with examples of evidence to address each of the criteria. Peer Reviewers receive the Assurance Argument prior to the Site Visit and use it as a basis for interviews and open meetings during the visit.
